About
About the course Develop your artistry and knowledge as you take to the Music Theatre stage. You'll gain experience and skills across the three major aspects of performance: singing, dancing, and acting, as well as exploring music theatre history and music analysis, allowing you to contextualise your performance through understanding the theoretical frameworks of music. You will receive expert instruction from experienced professionals who will help you hone your skills and develop your unique style. In addition, regular Music Theatre Workshops will explore all aspects of performance, from acting and singing to dancing and stagecraft. As part of the major, you will join the Broadway Choir, where you'll perform iconic music theatre numbers and have the opportunity to shine in solo performances. An exciting feature of the course is the opportunity to expand your creative practice and undertake work integrated learning with WA based-arts organisations and community theatre companies. This major can be taken alongside almost any other major at UWA, including those in Science, Business, Arts etc., or Electronic Music and Sound Design, Contemporary Popular Music or General Music Studies.
