Because the water and soil resources area is broad-based, this program gives students a complete understanding of the physical, chemical, and biological elements of soils and watersheds. Through this area of emphasis, which is part of Warnell's Natural Resource Management and sustainability degree, you will gain an appreciation of the social, political, and economic forces that influence natural resources policy decisions, and the ability to analyze natural resource problems to forge realistic solutions.
This program meets the educational requirements for Certified Soil Scientist by the Soil Science Society of America and/or prepare for the certified hydrologist exam offered by the American Institute of Hydrologists.
Study Abroad Options: The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources hosts study away programs in Australia, Fiji, Hawaii, New Zealand, the Smoky Mountains, and the United Kingdom.
