The MSc-F (thesis-based masters program) is a research-oriented degree. Most often students undertake research in one or more of the natural/biophysical fields of forest sciences, however social science research projects (and methodologies), as well as research at the intersection of the natural and social sciences, are also common and are supported by the program. Research projects are designed jointly by the student and a faculty member who serves as the student's faculty supervisor.
Applicants should first contact and gain the mutual support of a potential supervisor before applying to the thesis-based program.
Students normally complete all requirements within six terms (2 years) of continuous registration.
