    This Diploma of Higher Education is a Higher Technical Qualification: the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) has approved it as meeting occupational standards for the digital sector. We’ve developed it in collaboration with employers and businesses so that you get the specific knowledge and skills required for your career as a network engineer. Designed around professional practice in the industry, this diploma will develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours employers want. You’ll first build a foundation of computing and mathematical knowledge and skills. Then, learn the fundamental technologies and techniques relevant to the role of a network engineer – an in-demand and valued profession.

    We’ve created this qualification to meet defined occupational standards approved by the IfATE (Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education). Meeting these standards means you’ll gain professionally approved skills and abilities applicable to a range of employers in the public and private sectors.

    Covering modules in communications, web technologies and Cisco networking, you’ll gain industry-relevant knowledge, skills and certifications that you can use directly in your current workplace or to start a new career direction.

    You’ll also gain experience working in a team to tackle a small development task and develop valuable transferable skills in communication, time management, numeracy, problem-solving and data handling.

    Every sector conceivable depends on IT systems. Business networks are becoming more complex and nuanced. And with the expansion of cloud technologies, cyber security concerns, and more people working remotely than ever before, having the ability to network computing and IT systems will potentially open up a vast range of opportunities. This qualification will also give you the industry gold standard Cisco Networking CCNA Part 1, a valued certification for new network engineers.

    Given that we created this qualification to defined standards, you’ll have the option to enter the IT workplace in various roles following completion. Depending on your interests and ambitions, you can consider other IT roles such as helpdesk support, system administration, or communications engineering.

    If you already work in the IT sector, your new knowledge and experience will support you to move into a network engineering role. It will help open up new avenues of professional development, progressing your career.

    2. Choose modules

    We'll ask you to select the module you intend to study in your first year. Some modules on your chosen qualification will be compulsory, while others may be selected from a list of options..

    3. Organise funding

    Tell us how you will be paying for your chosen module. For example, you'd like to pay by credit or debit card.

    4. Complete registration

    To complete your registration, you'll need to confirm your payment method.
