Overview The curriculum is a combination of science, math and nursing courses designed to give you a well-rounded education and to prepare you to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. Nursing - Pre-Licensure students at Morehead State University will learn by doing, not only through clinical practicums, but in the department's state-of-the-art simulation lab. In the lab, computerized mannequins can mimic a number of illnesses and symptoms, and respond to treatments administered by students.The BSN Pre-Licensure program has a selective admissions process, and a limited number of students are accepted each year. Career OpportunitiesAccording to the 2011 Bureau of Labor statistics (BLS) report, Registered Nurses comprise the greatest number of healthcare professionals with a total employment of approximately 2.6 million jobs. The Registered Nurse (RN) has a panoramic set of responsibilities. The RN is responsible for treating patients, educating patients, families and the public, helping perform and analyze diagnostic tests and administering treatment and medications.
