The PDA Production and Retail Horticulture course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills required for employment within the production and retail industry.
It allows you to develop an understanding of the theory and terminology of horticulture, required in this sector and help you enhance your employability skills.
If you successfully complete the course you could expect to gain employment at technician or supervisor level, or you can progress to our HNC Horticulture course.
This course gives students the opportunity to gain the knowledge and practical skills to become a technician or supervisor within the Production and Retail sectors of the horticulture industry.
The course will allow you to develop an understanding of the skills required to be an effective supervisor in the sector and provide the opportunity for development of practical horticultural knowledge and skills in plant propagation and plant production.
You'll gain a broad grounding in plant nutrition and irrigation, plant protection and horticultural machinery. Your studies will help you to develop your plant identification and retail skills, such as plant display, customer service and communication. The course allows for some specialisation in ornamental plant production, plant retailing and food crop production.
