Normally you need:
- a 2.2 degree or equivalent in an appropriate subject or significant relevant experience
- a high level of creative ability, as evidenced by a portfolio of work*
- statement 400 word max**
In order for us to be able to process your application please provide us with information about your photography related experience and aspirations along with your portfolio of work.
Your submission should include:
- PORTFOLIO* (up to 30 images)
This can be either a link to your website or a PDF presenting images from your photography practice (you may also include links to other lens based/moving image/creative art work you have produced if relevant). Please clearly identify student work and any independent or professional projects and supply information regarding the year each image/project was made, titles, dimensions of work (if it has been produced for exhibition context). If your work is analogue, submit digital documentation.
- STATEMENT** (400 word max. Can be bullet points)
You should briefly describe your photographic practice/s thus far. Please outline your hopes and ambitions for undertaking PG study with us and indicate which photographers/filmmakers/artists, publications and exhibitions have inspired you and influenced your practice. Describe research and/or distinctive processes that have impacted the development of your work or that you would like to explore in your future studies.
Detailing your relevant experience, including your education, professional work experience and any participation in exhibitions or publications.
Applicants whose first language is not English require an IELTS score of 6.0 with 5.5 in all skills (or equivalent). If your English language skill is currently below the required standard then you can apply for the Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course that will enable you to achieve the required proficiency English.
