    Physical Therapy - D.P.T. 4+3 Program The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) 4+3 Program is a seven-year program that combines four (4) years of coursework in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Exercise Science from Rutgers University'New Brunswick with three years (+3) of graduate school at the Rutgers School of Health Professions Doctor of Physical Therapy Newark'North and Blackwood' South programs. This program is an option for highly motivated students who enter Rutgers knowing they want to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. The DPT 4+3 Program is only open to first-year students who complete the required first-year fall semester curriculum satisfactorily. If they meet these requirements, students must declare formal interest before they declare their major in the spring of their first year. Accepted students will have the opportunity to apply to the DPT Graduate Program in the third year of their undergraduate career. Upon completion of all requirements in the fourth year, selected students will have the opportunity to begin their graduate career in the DPT Program and receive a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree upon completing the third year of their graduate studies.

    Entry Requirements

    Students currently studying in the United States are not eligible for the RU-PATH program. If a student is currently studying in a U.S. high school, he/she should for regular admission to a Rutgers degree program.

    English Program Requirements

    Regardless of U.S. residency status, an English proficiency examination is required of all students whose secondary schooling has been outside the U.S. in a country where English is not the principal language. Score reports must be from tests taken within the past two years and submitted directly to us from the testing service.

    Please note: Students who have earned a grade of B or better in a college-level English Composition course at an accredited U.S. college (not a foreign affiliate) are exempt from the English language proficiency requirement. English courses that are designated ESL, non-native, or which require a special support component, or any courses taken outside the US, are not acceptable. Please also note that Rutgers does not accept correspondence or online courses for the language proficiency requirement.
