Overview A Political Science program from Elmhurst College provides excellent preparation for a wide range of fields, including law, government and community service, journalism, management, policymaking, finance and communications.CareersPolitical science majors often enter careers in government, law, business, international affairs, nonprofit organizations, campaign management and polling, journalism, communications, research, community service, and university and college teaching.Many of Elmhurst’s political science majors attain advanced degrees in political science, law, and public administration; many go on to distinguished careers in these fields. One Elmhurst political science graduate, the Hon. William Bauer, currently serves as judge on the United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.Other alumni are working in the Illinois General Assembly, in state and local government offices, and in law offices. They’re serving in the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps and nonprofits and think tanks. They also attend some of the nation’s top graduate and law schools, including Penn State, Emory University, Northwestern University and the University of Chicago.
