    Entry Requirements

    Applicants must have received a B.A. or B.S. degree. The Department of Political Science asks applicants to submit the following: Complete Online Graduate Application Acceptable GRE scores (students who have completed degrees in political science or a closely related field with a GPA of 3.5 or better can receive a waiver) Two letters of recommendation from persons who can authoritatively comment on your academic abilities Transcripts from all graduate and/or undergraduate institutions attended Statement of your research interests and how the Political Science Department will help you meet your career and educational goals Writing sample The department seeks applicants with a history of strong academic achievement, clear interests and potential for excellence at the graduate level.

    English Program Requirements

    For students required to show English Language Proficiency for summer 2020 and fall 2020, Georgia State accepts Duolingo English tests as one of the new English proficiency tests. To register for the test, please go to go.duolingo.com/applicants. The Duolingo English Test can be taken online from a computer with a camera. Certified results are available within two days and can be shared instantly with the university. For 2020-2021 admissions cycle, any changes on the admissions requirements will be updated on the website under the guidance from the University System of Georgia.
