    About

    Healthy spines, healthy living.

Find the body's balance between its main structures – the skeleton, muscles and nerves – and help others live healthy lives by studying in the pre-chiropractic program.

Chiropractors help their patients improve their health by making adjustments to those structures, specifically, the spinal column. Many patients seek chiropractic care for back, neck and joint problems, but they often prefer treatment that does not rely on medication or surgery.

Choose a degree major that you enjoy and carefully check admission requirements at chiropractic schools of interest and take the required coursework. These may include anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, chemistry and human nutrition among others.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

If you are a freshman or first-year student:

    • Undergraduate applicants who have no previous work at the post-secondary level must have at least a 2.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) from a secondary school. Students must also meet the criteria for admission to university-level study in their home country.

If you are a transfer student:

    • Undergraduate applicants who have attended a post-secondary institution and have completed at least 14 transferable semester credits at an accredited institution must present a minimum grade point average of 2.0 for all post-secondary work. For admission into the College of Engineering, transfer students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.8. Other departments may have additional requirements. Students who have completed fewer than 14 transferable semester credits (post-secondary) must meet the freshman or first-year student requirements in addition to the transfer student requirements.
    • Please note: Students transferring to the University of Idaho from another U.S. college or university must notify their current international student advisor of their plans to transfer to the University of Idaho. Please refer to the SEVIS Transfer Process Form for more information about this topic.
