    Overview Students in the Professional and Technical Writing program at The City University of New York gain competencies that include writing, editing, problem solving, document design, rhetoric, interpersonal communication, collaboration, specialized expertise, and fluency in modern communication technologies. Students learn how to translate complex, industry-specific information into lay terminology or another industry-specific discourse. This program has three components: (1) general education core courses, (2) required courses in the major, and (3) an area of specialization. Students in this interdisciplinary degree program gain strong communication skills and a solid knowledge base through specialization in a content area, namely, a professional, scientific, or technical discipline.The program’s curriculum is designed for students to achieve the following learning outcomes:Understand and resolve legal and ethical issues surrounding publicationDemonstrate a sophisticated understanding of visual rhetoric and writing in multimedia environmentsDescribe technical information in readable prose for specialists and non-specialistsUse professional tools for technical and professional communicationWork and write collaborativelyEvaluate, analyze, summarize, and vet informationMatch deliverables to an audience and purposeCreate and defend a proposal both orally and in writingConduct needs assessmentsPerform usability testsUnderstand issues of cultural diversity as they relate to written and digital communication I want to find another Bachelor Course
