    Overview The Psychology program offered by Florida Gulf Coast University focuses on broad training across a variety of content areas within psychology. Substantive areas to be covered include clinical, social, developmental, cognitive, quantitative, and biological basis of behavior. Students will receive training in conducting independent research and will have the opportunity to participate in independent research study and applied community practice.Our program is committed to providing a learning environment that offers students broad opportunities for intellectual growth that prepares students to think critically and develop the communication skills needed to function in a variety of settings. In addition, we offer students an academic background that provides a firm foundation to support application to applied mental health-related graduate programs, Ph.D. programs in psychological sciences and, with proper interdisciplinary coursework, medical, veterinary, or law school. Our students are able to choose between two concentrations, Psychology and Neuroscience and Cognition.Graduates with B.A. in Psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University will be able to:Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the knowledge base in psychology.Act with ethical and social responsibility in a diverse world.Be aware of the range of professional opportunities related to psychology.
