Overview At the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, the Department offers a 36-credit Psychology Major as well as a 21-credit Psychology Minor. The major may be completed as either a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. The Psychology Major is designed to create a strong background in research design, data interpretation, and application of psychological science to address important theoretical and applied problems and questions. The goal of the major is to (a) prepare students for successful employment in private or public job sectors upon graduation, and/or (b) prepare students for successful admission to graduate programs in psychology, counseling, and other aligned health and mental health fields. The Psychology Minor is designed to engage students in a focused study of psychological science and to complement and strengthen other majors in the sciences, arts and humanities, and professional colleges of business, education, and nursing.
