    About

Overview Basic Degree Information/DescriptionThe vast majority of our graduates have either obtained admission to a Ph.D. program or a Psychology-related job, typically in research. Those who go on to doctoral work often attend top name schools in their areas, while those who pursue M.S. level jobs frequently gain employment conducting research for Health Science centers, test and measures companies, or the military. The Psychology program of The University of Texas at San Antonio is not a treatment-oriented program, and is not oriented towards preparing future therapists for licensure. If you are looking for a program to become a therapist, you may wish to look at one of UTSA's degrees in Counseling. I want to find another Master Course Why Psychology? The M.S. program in Psychology has an excellent record of placing graduates in settings in which they make use of their degree. This includes Doctoral programs in research-oriented areas of Psychology as well as applied research settings. The M.S. is excellent preparation for UTSA's Doctoral program in Psychology. The Graduate Faculty in Psychology includes many highly active researchers with a record of high publication and citation rates, grant funding, and inclusion of students in research efforts. Many faculty are also highly involved in the editorial process, including several serving as Associate Editors at major scholarly journals.
The Psychology program of The University of Texas at San Antonio is designed to provide students with the statistical and methodological background to continue to a Ph.D. program in traditionally research-oriented areas of Psychology or to obtain M.S.-level jobs in applied research settings.
