    Overview Throughout the Quality and Safety in Healthcare Management (Dublin Campus) programme at RCSI Institute of Leadership you will develop skills in evaluating core concepts around patient safety, quality, accreditation and governance. Following the completion of six modules, you will further enhance your skills by leading a change project aimed at enhancing quality and safety in your organisation.Graduates of this programme are better able to ensure the delivery and configuration of high-quality health services and lead change and development within their areas. They are also equipped to specialise in formal quality and safety roles.Applications are invited from all those working in the healthcare sector including doctors, managers, nurses, other clinical specialists and administrators who wish to develop and extend their knowledge and skills in the management of quality and safety in healthcare. Personnel in allied health businesses such as medical supplies/equipment and pharmaceuticals may also find the programme relevant and valuable for their needs.Learning outcomesThis programme will provide you with the skills and knowledge to:Develop participants as reflective critical practitioners with the knowledge, insight and skills to determine the threats to quality and safety, and the contributory factors therein, and to identify appropriate evidence based solutions for different levels of the healthcare system.     Develop participants’ knowledge of quality, safety, leadership and management competencies to enable them to lead teams to improve and assure healthcare standards.Develop skills in quality and safety planning, implementing, monitoring and measurement, including the management of accreditation processes, to proactively assure the quality and safety of care.Develop a critical understanding of safety culture, driven by learning and accountability, and how such a culture can be fostered and maintained; as part of a collective approach to governance alongside patients and public, ensuring that quality and safety improvement is underpinned by current policy and best practice.Demonstrate the ability to speak up and to question processes, policies and procedures as part of safety and improvement work.
