    Research Study Abroad

    About

This program is a non-award program offered through the Griffith Graduate Research School in consultation with Griffith International - Study Abroad. The program provides an additional option for International Higher Degree Research students to undertake part of their research project at Griffith University.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

A Research Study Abroad applicant will already be enrolled in a Higher Degree Research (HDR) program in their home (or another) country and, therefore, be deemed to have met the admission requirements to study in the same level program through Research Study Abroad.

    English Program Requirements

International applicants must meet prescribed minimum standards in English language proficiency. For Research Study Abroad applicants, the proposed principal supervisor may recommend to the Group Dean that the English language requirements be waived.

The prescribed minimum proficiency standards in the English language are as follows:

    • A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with no sub-score less than 6.0
    • OR a minimum score of 580 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) including a score of no less than 5.0 on the Test of Written English (TWE)
    • OR a score of 237 on the computerised Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) including an Essay Rating score of 5.0.

The test score should not be more than two years old at the time of application. These represent minimum scores and some academic elements may require higher levels of English language proficiency.

The Direct Entry Program (DEP) pathway is not accepted for this program.
