    Sports Business and Management - BA (Hons)

    About

    The BA Hons Sports Business and Management course will be based within the student’s Community Club Organisation or Club, and lectures, seminars and tutorials will be delivered on site and via provided material.  The course includes academic, practical and vocational elements and seeks to prepare students for a wide range of graduate careers.

    Entry Requirements

    Academic Qualifications

    • Applicants who have completed a Diploma of Technician / Technical Diploma in a relevant subject can be considered for year 1 entry of an undergraduate degree
    • Applicants who have followed the IB Diploma curriculum can be considered for undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied
    • Applicants who have followed the A-Level curriculum can be considered for undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied

    Undergraduate Advanced Entry

    Students who have completed a 2 year Diploma or Associate Degree from a recognised institution can be considered for advanced entry onto the 2nd year of an undergraduate degree programme

    English Program Requirements

    English Qualifications

    Proficiency in English is essential for undergraduate and postgraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English Language qualifications:

    • GCSE/O Level English at grade C or above
    • IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component.

    The BA (Hons) Sports Business and Management will prepare you to work in a multitude of sports business, management and leadership roles, instilling the skills that will allow you to work within a range of sports businesses. The nature of this degree where you are ‘learning on the job’, means you have 3-years to impress a potential future employer (your club), as well as impress any of their key partners or sponsors.

    You’ll have support in gaining regular placement opportunities, provided by your Club Mentor and an opportunity to reflect upon your development through termly meetings with an Academic Development Officer.

    Graduates from this degree could gain employment at professional football clubs, national governing bodies, sports marketing agencies, and in the hospitality industry, business management, logistics, digital marketing, advertising, Sports Business Development, Sport and Leisure Management and Administration, club directorship, sports facilities management, sports agency, sponsorship and commercial management, sport operations management and sports entrepreneurship.
