    About the course

    This Foundation degree will give you a vocationally relevant higher-education qualification – alongside other vocationally recognised qualifications – that will set you on the path to a rewarding career as a sports coach.

    The course provides you with a broad knowledge base from which to explore the role of a sports coach. There are also opportunities to apply this knowledge within a work-based setting.

    Your studies are built around a framework of sport science topics so you gain a firm understanding of sport psychology anatomy and physiology as well as employment in the sports industry management and units dedicated to sports coaching and performance development.

    The aim of this course is to provide you with a vocationally relevant Higher Education qualification that is achieved within a supportive yet challenging teaching and learning environment.

    The course provides a broad-base of knowledge that underpins the role of a Sports Coach and provides opportunity to apply this knowledge within work-based experience.

    The course is based around a framework of core sport science topics ensuring that you gain a firm understanding of sport psychology and anatomy and physiology together with a series of complimentary employment management and vocationally specific units. 

    The course also provides opportunities for you to gain additional vocationally recognised qualifications alongside the foundation degree.

    As a successful graduate you will have the knowledge skills and confidence to work independently or collaboratively as part of a group to make evidence based decisions about appropriate coaching within sport.

    In addition to this you will be able to select appropriate coaching methods to maximise motivation participation and performance in sport settings.

    Entry Requirements

    2 A level passes (minimum C and D)

    International Baccalaureate (24 points)

    A recognised Foundation degree

    English Program Requirements

    To apply for a place on an undergraduate course (BA/BSc) you need to have completed your high school education (12 years) and have a pass equivalent to two UK A level passes and have the required English language qualification.

    • Please submit copies of any UK Visa that you have held and any documentation relating to previous visa refusals from any country
