    Overview About the ProgramYou will learn by doing, guided by faculty experts in lighting, sound, scene, costume, prop, and technical design. Because teamwork and mentorship are essential to a successful theatrical career, you will work closely with a single faculty advisor who will help you tailor a program of study based on your passions and skills.Through your studies, you will have unique access to Emerson’s celebrated performance spaces, which include five operational theaters from the iconic Cutler Majestic Theatre to the more intimate Jackie Liebergott Black Box. You will have a chance to apply your coursework through Emerson Stage, our performance laboratory that brings together student actors, designers, stage managers, and technicians for a nine-show season. Through our impressive alumni network, you will also have access to coveted internships at top theaters and companies around the country. The program culminates in a senior year portfolio review by theater industry members, allowing you to receive feedback from top professionals while broadening your network and fast-tracking your career.The Theatre Design and Technology program of Emerson College embodies the critical importance of design and technology.
