About

Overview Program FeaturesAs a major in the Toy Design program of Otis College of Art and Design, you’ll learn to make the toys of tomorrow. Our comprehensive design curriculum includes the major categories of plush, preschool, dolls, action figures, toy vehicles, games, and more.You’ll take courses in child psychology and development, marketing, engineering, model making, digital design, computer rendering, packaging, and presentation. You’ll start with analog training in conceptual drawing, sculpting, and prototyping, and progress into digital illustration and graphic representation, model making, and rapid prototyping.Our program includes faculty and guest mentors who are renowned toy design and entertainment professionals. After your sophomore year, you’ll also have the opportunity to gain industry experience with summer internships at a wide range of our toy and entertainment partners including Mattel, Hasbro, and Disney.When you graduate, you’ll have a final portfolio that highlights your unique talents, ideas, and technical skills across a broad range of toy categories.
