Are you interested in obtaining a university degree in Regensburg? To achieve this goal, a good command of German is essential. The German language preparation courses at the University of Regensburg provide university-specific foreign language training at a variety of levels. The goal of the language courses is to help applicants attain the level of proficiency needed to study in German, which will be proven by passing the German language university entrance exam for international students, the "Deutsche SprachprÃ¼fung fÃ¼r den Hochschulzugang" (DSH). By attending our courses, you will obtain the German language skills that are necessary to pursue a degree programme and to have a successful university experience. In addition to the language skills, you will acquire study strategies and skills for online learning. Workshops on various study-related topics and individual pronunciation training complete our course programme. Our courses are set up as intensive semester courses that contain 300 course hours, with additional courses of 150 course hours offered during the lecture-free periods. Our language courses are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Courses are offered at three levels: "Basiskurs" (basic level B1), "Aufbaukurs" (intermediate level B1+/B2), and "Hauptkurs" (qualification level B2+/C1). Our team of experienced teachers will assist and advise you individually during your learning process. Regular diagnostic tests will keep you informed of the progress you have made in different areas of learning. DSH mock exams conducted in the "Hauptkurs" will give valuable feedback on your level of proficiency and familiarise you with the test format. As a course participant, you will receive student status and will be able to take advantage of the university's offers, programmes and facilities. Before the actual start of the course, you can participate in the "Startklar" orientation programme at the University of Regensburg.

You may apply for the preparatory German course if you intend to pursue a course of study to earn a degree in Regensburg (at the UR - UniversitÃ¤t Regensburg or OTH - Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg) and if you meet the academic prerequisites for the study programme of your choice.
