    Water and Coastal Management

    About

Managing water resources, river catchments, and coastal zones are outstanding challenges of today and tomorrow. Therefore, a comprehensive scientific approach, an international multidisciplinary orientation, and a new mindset towards water and coastal management problems is required. The Master's programme Water and Coastal Management (WCM) is a double degree programme in which you will earn two Master’s degrees, one from the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and one from the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. For the first year of the Master’s degree, you will be studying in Germany, and the second year will be spent in the Netherlands. Thus, you will experience the best of both universities and will be provided with an inspiring atmosphere for the extraordinary development of your academic and professional career. In Oldenburg, you will be given the opportunity to learn about coastal and marine environments and issues of spatial development, and you will study sustainable management. You will have a variety of elective modules to choose from. In Groningen, you will attend mostly mandatory modules from the MSc Environmental and Infrastructure Planning. The Rijksuniversiteit Groningen offers outstanding knowledge in the spatial sciences, in particular water management and environmental and infrastructure planning. This interdisciplinary programme turns successful students into international experts in water and coastal management.
