    About

Overview Courses provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to engage in traditional youth ministry roles or lead innovative youth programs outside of religious institutions. The forty-eight-credit curriculum is designed for full-time study. Students complete a common core of courses in the Bible, theology, and church history, in addition to specialized courses in youth ministry. Students in the Youth Ministry program at New York Theological Seminary cover foundational competencies such as faith formation, adolescent development, sexuality, and pastoral care. They also gain competencies in strategies to address the most pressing cultural and systemic realities affecting urban youth.
