    Success stories

    Dr Angela Chen

    Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Dilin Duwa Centre for Indigenous Business Leadership

"I had a career in industry before I was accepted into the Doctoral Program in Management at the University of Melbourne. Some important skills I learned during my academic training include how to think critically and comprehensively about a phenomenon, and how to communicate it so others can benefit from the knowledge I acquire from my research. I also really enjoyed the fact that I could conduct research on a topic I was passionate about. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is interested in receiving excellent training that enables them to conduct world class research and contribute new knowledge about a topic they care deeply about."

    Lead FAL Customer Manager
    A320 Family, Airbus

"I work as a Lead FAL Customer Manager for the A320 Family at Airbus and I am the fleet manager for China Southern and Vietnam Airlines. My job requires a high degree of coordination between our various internal departments (such as sales, contracts, quality, engineering and production line), airworthiness authorities, and customers from all around the world. The PhD has equipped me with the skills to analyse the various situations I face every day and to quickly ponder different approaches in order to find solutions to the satisfaction of both Airbus and our customers."

    Dr Agus Putra Wicaksana

    Lecturer
    The University of Adelaide

"The five-year doctoral program in Management and Marketing at the University of Melbourne is the only one of its kind in Australia. The first two-year coursework phase has provided me with a sound understanding of research philosophy and approaches, whereas the three-year research phase has shaped my capabilities to execute research independently. I was also involved in teaching within the department and provided with several grants to attend conferences in Europe and the Oceania region. Being on a full scholarship was also helpful in focusing my attention on research and personal development. It is truly an excellent research training program for my career as an academic."
