    This additional one-year program is normally undertaken by students with an excellent academic record in the Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of Information Technology degrees who wish to broaden their knowledge as further preparation for professional practice or to meet the requirements for admission to a research degree.

    Students enrolled in the program are required to complete a project courses and other courses focused on research methods or advanced topics in computing.

    Admission requirements

    Eligibility for admission to this program is based on applicants having completed a Bachelor degree in a cognate area with a minimum GPA of 5.0:

    • across all studies undertaken within the program; or
    • across a major in the proposed area of study; or
    • across 80 units of 3000 level courses (which must include at least 40 units of 3000 level courses in the major where a major exists); or
    • where the applicant has completed less than 80 units at 3000 level, a GPA of 5.0 calculated from at least 60 units of 3000 level courses (which includes at least 40 units of 3000 level courses in the major where a major exists).

    In exceptional circumstances, an application which does not meet the above requirements may be considered.
