    This course is designed for those who want a comprehensive understanding of the law and how institutional rules and incentives shape economic outcomes. As well as enhancing your analytical and quantitative skills to tackle economic challenges effectively, this degree meets the academic requirements for admission to legal practice in NSW.

    Distinctive features include the integration of law with econometrics, macroeconomics, and microeconomics, tailored to inform practical policy decisions.

    You'll develop expertise in legal theory, practice, and economic principles. The honours component ensures you will develop advanced research, critical analysis and communication skills. that are highly sought after in in the workplace and can be used in further higher degree research such as Master of Laws or PhD.

    You will gain hands-on experience through capstones and internships, ensuring practical application of your knowledge, along with your in-depth honours research project. This approach enhances your employability in various sectors such as government, corporate law, consulting, and media

    The degree seeks to provide students with the knowledge, competencies and values necessary to develop critical, analytical and evaluative skills essential for a dynamic and rewarding career in economics and law.

    The program provides full-time study for students wishing to obtain a professional legal qualification that satisfies the academic requirements only for admission as a lawyer.

    Students have the opportunity to engage in deeper study of the law by studying 76090 Research Methodology and undertaking 76040 Research Thesis. This course can be a pathway to higher degree research programs.

    Successful completion of at least one full-time year at bachelor's degree level at a recognised university or tertiary institution.You require a relevant bachelor's degree. You must also demonstrate the potential to undertake research and submit a brief research proposal which should have been discussed with an appropriate UTS staff member.
