    About

Learn the art and science of promoting population health when you study public health at UOW. Throughout the degree you will learn to improve living standards through preventing infectious diseases and poor health caused by unhealthy lifestyles and other societal factors, enabling positive mental wellbeing based on scientific evidence.

This degree is for high achieving students offering an additional fourth year of study and is designed to provide you with the skills needed to demonstrate a clear understanding of research questions, an ability to investigate them and excellence in research practice.

It allows you to further develop your knowledge and skills in public health, giving you a competitive edge in the workforce. Throughout the degree, you will design, plan and implement a substantial piece of research, critically evaluate the relevant literature and exercise creative intellectual enquiry, contribute professionally to a research environment and, when necessary, work as part of a team and present the research in an appropriate format.

See the course handbook for more information.
