Degree Information
Our compressed Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) with RN Prescribing degree is completed by students full-time over fall, winter and summer semesters. The hybrid coursework occurs on campus, in small experiential learning labs and through clinical placements. Use of innovative extended reality — augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) — medical simulation and clinical placement experiences will provide you with strong theoretical knowledge and excellent practical application to support a practice-ready Registered Nurse.
Concentrations
- Mental Health and Neuroscience: Study neuroscience as related to mental health nursing practice. You will be prepared to meet holistic patient care needs by understanding mental health is an integral component of overall patient care.
- Nursing Data Science (Artificial Intelligence): Our first-of-its-kind concentration will prepare you to be on the forefront of technology and data science integrating Artificial Intelligence into your nursing practice. You'll learn to bridge the gap between technical skills and clinical expertise, using advanced knowledge to drive innovation in data science, artificial intelligence and healthcare.
Ontario Learn and Stay Grant
Ontario high school students entering Carleton University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing with RN Prescribing program will be able to apply for Ontario’s Learn and Stay Grant (OLSG). Applicants with prior post-secondary studies should contact Carleton’s Awards and Financial Aid Office to discuss OLSG eligibility. The Ontario Learn and Stay Grant (OLSG) supports post-secondary students studying in high-priority programs at institutions located in under-served regions of the province. The grant provides eligible students with full, upfront funding for tuition, books, and other educational expenses. In exchange, students commit to work for a time after graduation in the region where they studied. Additional Admission Requirements
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing with RN Prescribing has an early application deadline and applicants are required to submit a supplementary application. Additionally, there are essential requirements defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario that must be satisfied in order to participate in a Nursing program and in the Nursing profession.
