    About

    This program will provide you a solid grounding in electronics, mechanical technology, and workplace safety. Through instruction, hands-on learning, simulation, and workplace training, you'll become an expert at operating, maintaining and repairing ROV systems.

    Students completing the three-year Underwater Vehicles program will earn both a Diploma of Technology and a technician diploma in Remotely Operated Vehicles. Students can choose to exit at two years with a Technician Diploma in Remotely Operated Vehicles.

    Entry Requirements

    Adherence to our Application and Admission Regulations either upon high school graduation (following a period of employment subsequent to graduation), or by transfer from another post-secondary institution.

    • Proof of physical fitness through the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) Offshore Medical.
    • Strong math and science skills.
    • Requirements for both the diploma and the degree successfully completed in order to receive any one of the credentials.

    English Program Requirements

    English language proficiency for general admission may be demonstrated through a valid score on one of the following standardized tests taken within two years prior to the start of the semester of admission. Final results should be submitted based on the instructions listed with each test.

    Duolingo English Test (DET)

    Requirement: A minimum overall score of 115.
    Submission: Upon receipt of your certified test results, you should send the results from your Duolingo account to Memorial University of Newfoundland.

    International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

    Requirement: A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on the IELTS Academic or IELTS Academic for UKVI, with at least a band 6 in reading and writing. General Training results are not acceptable.
    Submission: Test report form should be uploaded to the admissions portal.

    Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE ACADEMIC)

    Requirement: A minimum overall score of 60.
    Submission: Score Report should be uploaded to the admissions portal.

    Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

    Requirement: A minimum score of 83 on the TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home Edition, with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing.
    Submission: Score Report should be uploaded to the admissions portal.
