    The Master of Organizational Consulting (MOC) is a course-based graduate degree designed for early- to late-career professionals aiming to excel in the dynamic and diverse field of management consulting.

    This interdisciplinary degree draws on the combined strengths of the University of Guelph's renowned programs in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and Business Management, offering a distinctive blend of business acumen and psychological insight.

    Whether you're looking to pivot into consulting or enhance your current expertise, the Master of Organizational Consulting program equips you with the foundational skills in organizational effectiveness, stakeholder interpersonal dynamics, project management, and data-driven decision-making needed to make a difference.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    • A four-year honours undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university.
    • Minimum 70% (B-) average in the last two years of study.
    • Two or more years of full-time work experience. If you have less than two years of experience, you may be considered if you have relevant part-time, volunteer, or co-op experience and can explain how it has prepared you for graduate study in your application.
    • Prior learning in statistics/data analysis/quantitative methods is recommended. Evidence of familiarity with key concepts such as data visualization, statistical analysis, and the use of analytics tools may enhance your application. You may be required to take supplemental coursework if you do not have experience in this area.

    Career

    The Master of Organizational Consulting program is delivered online over 16 months. Each course is taught over seven weeks, meaning you can focus on one course at a time while balancing work and family responsibilities.

    The program is also designed with a full-time work schedule in mind, so you can keep working while completing your courses. You can expect to commit 10-16 hours per week while in the program.

    In your first fall semester, you'll complete these courses:

    • Business Consulting
    • Organizational Theory and Design
    • Professional, Ethical, and Legal Issues in Consulting

    In the second semester during the winter, you'll complete these courses:

    • Understanding Change Processes
    • Interpersonal Dynamics in Consulting

    In the third semester over the summer, you'll complete these courses:

    • Project Management
    • Business Analytics

    In the final semester, you'll complete these courses:

    • Consulting Project (Capstone)
    • Consultant Reflections and Personal Development
