You do not need a faculty supervisor to apply for this program.
Note: Any application documents that are intended to be personal statements (e.g., Statement of Intent, Statement of Research, etc.) must be written by the applicant. Any such documents that appear to be produced by generative artificial intelligence (e.g., ChatGPT) may be rejected.
The Graduate Certificate in Sustainability Solutions teaches new strategies to design and implement solutions to sustainability challenges. Courses build competencies towards regenerative design and sustainability alternatives to common sustainability problems by teaching key concepts and practical tools. New professionals and longstanding professionals will become more effective practitioners by learning about sustainability innovations and how to apply them.
The program is designed to allow working professionals the flexibility to complete the certificate while also continuing to work in their profession. Students will be required to take the following courses:
- ENVS 818.1 Introduction to Sustainability (students that have successfully completed this course previously will not be required to repeat it)
- ENVS 850.1 Systems Thinking for Sustainability
- ENVS 851.2 Design Thinking for Sustainability
- ENVS 853.3 Regenerative Sustainability
- ENVS 807.3 Sustainability in Theory and Practice
Students may take the certificate as a stand-alone program or may ladder this credential into the Master of Sustainability (MSs).
