    About

Find your engineering focus. All our engineering programs start with the same courses in first year so you can learn more about each field (civil, environmental, electrical, industrial and mechanical). Then choose an area of study for second year. You’ll receive guidance from our world renowned faculty, hands-on learning in a supportive environment and gain the skills needed for a successful career.

All engineering programs begin with a general first year that provides students flexibility in program choice. In your first year, you will learn and explore subjects important to engineering, including:

    • Forces, motions and movement
    • Electricity and magnetism
    • Mathematics and its applications
    • Design and graphical communications
    • Chemical and material interactions
    • Technical communications
    • Professional issues in the engineering disciplines
    • Introductory electrical and computing

    2. A minimum score of 83 with a writing score of 20 on the TOEFL iBT® or TOEFL iBT® Home Edition. Paper-delivered TOEFL results are assessed individually.
    3. A minimum score of 115 for undergraduate applicants and 120 for graduate applicants on the Duolingo English Test (DET).
    4. A minimum score of 60 for undergraduates and 70 for graduates on the Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Assessment or CAEL At Home online assessment.
    5. A minimum score of 60 for undergraduates and 65 for graduates on the Pearson Test of English (PTE) – Academic.
    6. A minimum overall score of 176 on the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE).
    7. Successful completion of the University of Windsor's English Language Improvement Program (ELIP) level III with a minimum final grade of 75%.
    8. Receive at least five semester transfer credits from a recognized English-speaking university for full-time study (not applicable to graduate applicants).
    9. Receive at least ten transfer credits from an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT) or equivalent with an overall B average (not applicable to graduate applicants).
    10. Completion of the full International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with a minimum score of 4 in HL/SL English A: Literature or English A: Language and Literature (English B not acceptable, not applicable to graduate applicants).
