Entry Requirements

Admission Requirements

Current enrollment in a thesis-based graduate program at Western University.

Student must be in good academic standing in their home department.

Student must be within the first year of study in the home department program.

Permission of home department supervisor to participate in the Collaborative Specialization.

Additional Requirements

Students must be completing research in the home department that is relatable or has definable impact on the study of environment and sustainability, as identified and defined by the student.

English Language Proficiency

Applicants whose first language is not English must furnish evidence of their proficiency in the use of the English language:

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Minimum acceptable score is 94 for the internet version, or 587 for the paper and pencil version. [Western's TOEFL ID is 0984].

The International English Language Testing Service (IELTS Academic). Minimum acceptable overall score of 7 out of 9. No individual band score less than 6.5.
The Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL Assessment). Minimum acceptable score is 60.
