Entry Requirements

Applying with international qualifications (language requirements, application deadlines): International Admission. Requirements for admission to the Masters Degree programme consist of a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Technical University of Darmstadt (benchmark degree) or an equivalent degree. Admission to the Masters Degree programme may also depend on additional requirements. Specific degree entrance requirements may be found here and in the competences description.

English Program Requirements

You must pass the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang” (DSH-2) as evidence that your spoken and written command of the German language is adequate for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes for which the language of instruction is German.

Participating in the DSH at the Studienkolleg is subject to charge.

Career

The Masters degree programme prepares graduates for careers in industry, in university-external research institutes (e.g. research, development and production in the pharmaceutical and biotechnical industry or food industry), and also to undertake an individual research project as part of a doctoral programme. Potential career areas for Masters degree holders in technical biology include: pharmaceutical research, biotechnological research and production, chemistry, the environment and food industry, consulting and distribution in the chemical-pharmaceutical industry, scientific journalism, administrative and advisory functions in the fields of nature and environmental protection, evaluation of the consequences of technology, genetic technology, patent systems, biological safety and security, forensics, etc. TU Darmstadt Career Services
