The Law / Intellectual Property / Medical Law degree programme is only suitable for applicants who understand complex German texts. Irrespective of this fact you will find the description of the programme below.
The programme in Düsseldorf represents research-based and applied teaching. It is geared in particular to commercial law as well as international and European law and opens up a variety of contacts abroad.
The Faculty is known for its small student numbers, teaching in small groups, state-of-the-art library and tutorial rooms and structured exam preparation. It is particularly interested in new entrants and from WS 2019/2020 will cater for first-semester students in small groups managed by professors.
One unique feature of the programme is its integration of more than 70 judges, public prosecutors and lawyers, giving an early insight into practice.
In addition to the traditional legal studies programme, complementary studies in Anglo-American law and an integrated Franco-German study course are offered. The latter is offered as a basic and advanced programme together with Université de Cergy-Pontoise and requires an additional, separate application.
In the current CHE University Ranking 2017, the Faculty of Law at HHU once again performs exceptionally well, ranking among the top universities in seven categories with its subject “Lawâ€.
