About Sustainable Engineering (Bachelor of Science)

This interdisciplinary degree programme integrates elements of critical philosophy of technology, climate sciences, sustainability economics, sustainable production as well as circulation technology and other sustainability-focused elements. It is therefore a contemporary and socially relevant degree programme. A special feature at the start of your programme is the practice-oriented Bachelors project.Working as part of a group with fellow students, you develop an engineering solution to a current research or practical issue. You should have completed the pre-internship by the end of the fourth semester. This then opens up two core elective modules in addition to the interdisciplinary compulsory modules. If you decide to do your specialised internship at the Masters stage instead, the number of elective modules increases to five. This degree programme is admission-free.
If you did not graduate from a German school nor have a German higher education entrance qualification (for example, the Abitur), a language certificate proving your knowledge of German is required for the application and enrollment.

How to Apply for Sustainable Engineering (Bachelor of Science) at Leibniz University Hannover

You can use our online application portal to enrol any time between 1 June and 30 September. To be able to do this, you will need a qualification for admission to higher education. At the end of the online application, you will automatically be forwarded to a cover letter (the so-called application for enrollment). Sign this application for enrollment (handwritten or digital) and put it together with the required documents into one PDF document, which you can then upload using the upload link provided. The required documents include your qualification for admission to higher education (e.g. Abitur) and any other supporting documents such as practical training certificates or evidence of language proficiency. We also need proof of your health insurance and evidence that you have paid the semester fee. At the end of the online application, all required documents are listed and must be uploaded as a scan of the original documents by September 30th, 11:59 p.m. Please do not forget to upload your photo for the LeibnizCard . You can find information on this in the application for enrollment at the end of the online application. In September, you will receive your enrolment documents, an invitation to the welcome event for new students and information about any preparatory courses that may be offered. Please note that some degree programmes offer preparatory courses well before term starts.
