About German Studies as subject in the Masters Teacher Training Course for Technical Education (Master of Education)

Students can take the compulsory module FP TE Practical Training Technical Education from the 1st semester. This module comprises the Preparation for Practical Training course followed by two weeks of practical training at a school. During the next two semesters, students take two compulsory elective modules that were not completed at the Bachelors stage. One module must be from the area of literary studies and the other from the field of linguistics. The literary studies module may be selected from the courses offered in modules L3 and L4. In the area of linguistics, students can choose from modules S3, S4, S5 and S7. These module include courses in areas such as language, society and media as well as German as a foreign and second language, and as the language of education. In the 4th semester, students take the Masters thesis module, worth 20 CP. Students on the Masters Teacher Training Course for Technical Education with the teaching subject German may opt to write their Masters thesis in the subject of German Studies. How to Apply for German Studies as subject in the Masters Teacher Training Course for Technical Education (Master of Education) at Leibniz University Hannover

You can use our online application portal to enrol any time between 1 June and 30 September. To be able to do this, you will need a qualification for admission to higher education. At the end of the online application, you will automatically be forwarded to a cover letter (the so-called application for enrollment). Sign this application for enrollment (handwritten or digital) and put it together with the required documents into one PDF document, which you can then upload using the upload link provided. The required documents include your qualification for admission to higher education (e.g. Abitur) and any other supporting documents such as practical training certificates or evidence of language proficiency. We also need proof of your health insurance and evidence that you have paid the semester fee. At the end of the online application, all required documents are listed and must be uploaded as a scan of the original documents by September 30th, 11:59 p.m. Please do not forget to upload your photo for the LeibnizCard . You can find information on this in the application for enrollment at the end of the online application. In September, you will receive your enrolment documents, an invitation to the welcome event for new students and information about any preparatory courses that may be offered. Please note that some degree programmes offer preparatory courses well before term starts.
