About Religion in the Public Sphere - Double Degree Track (Master of Arts, Double Degree)

The degree programme is offered by the Institute for the Study of Religion in cooperation with the Institute of Sociology. A special feature of the programme is that it gives students the option of gaining a double degree instead of just the Masters degree in Hannover . This is made possible through cooperation with the universities of SÃ¶dertÃ¶rn (Sweden) and Roma Tre (Italy).

An undergraduate degree in a related field of study, such as

Study of Religions / Ethics as subject in the Interdisciplinary Bachelorâ€™s Degree Programme (Bachelor of Arts)
Social Sciences (Bachelor of Arts)
Political Science (Bachelor of Arts)
Politics as subject in the Interdisciplinary Bachelorâ€™s Degree Programme (Bachelor of Arts)

OR a Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a religious studies or sociology programme or subject. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a cultural or social science field of study (primarily anthropology, ethnology, history, cultural studies, Jewish studies, Islamic studies, political science, a regional science as well as comparable courses of study abroad with a corresponding foreign language designation) with proof of in-depth knowledge of content relevant to the study of religions.

For master's degree programmes with restricted admission, places shall be allocated according to the universityâ€™s own selection procedure, if there are more applicants fulfilling the admission requirements than there are places available. How to Apply for Religion in the Public Sphere - Double Degree Track (Master of Arts, Double Degree) at Leibniz University Hannover

You can use our online application portal to enrol any time between 1 June and 30 September. To be able to do this, you will need a qualification for admission to higher education. At the end of the online application, you will automatically be forwarded to a cover letter (the so-called application for enrollment). Sign this application for enrollment (handwritten or digital) and put it together with the required documents into one PDF document, which you can then upload using the upload link provided. The required documents include your qualification for admission to higher education (e.g. Abitur) and any other supporting documents such as practical training certificates or evidence of language proficiency. We also need proof of your health insurance and evidence that you have paid the semester fee. At the end of the online application, all required documents are listed and must be uploaded as a scan of the original documents by September 30th, 11:59 p.m. Please do not forget to upload your photo for the LeibnizCard . You can find information on this in the application for enrollment at the end of the online application. In September, you will receive your enrolment documents, an invitation to the welcome event for new students and information about any preparatory courses that may be offered. Please note that some degree programmes offer preparatory courses well before term starts.
