The Master's programme in Biochemistry at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University is an international programme for German, European and international students and taught entirely in English. Located in the attractive city of Munich, it offers a modern campus with the university's life science faculties, the Gene Center, Max-Planck-Institutes for Biochemistry and Neurobiology, Helmholtz Institute and Biotech companies nearby. It is combined with beautiful surroundings, nature and a high quality of life.
During the programme, internationally known researchers teach state-of-the-art theoretical, practical and organisational skills in biochemistry with a focus on how to independently conduct biochemical research. Aside from a thorough mandatory basic training in biochemistry, it offers a wide range of subjects to choose from as complementing major and minor topics in order to either develop students' broader knowledge around biochemistry or help students focus and specialise in a particular field in depth.
A prerequisite for application to the programme is a Bachelor's in biochemistry or a related field with sufficient practical training as well as sufficient theoretical knowledge. Applicants to the programme are subject to a selection process, and they must pass an entrance exam.
