â€¦as a research-focused Masters degree course with an interdisciplinary approach, it offers the chance of deepening the expertise and competencies acquired in the BA course; in addition to teaching the theory of medieval and early modern history in its transdisciplinary and cross-epochal breadth and width (subject matters, methods, sources, research controversies), the degree course also provides practice-oriented elements. Students are, moreover, given the opportunity at a very early stage to put themselves and their work to the test â€“ e.g. in the MaRS research colloquium â€“ and to forge links by participating in various events that are also attended by MaRS teaching staff (e.g. workshops, conferences); later, they are given the opportunity to gain further academic qualifications, e.g. by writing a doctoral thesis.

Applicants seeking admission to our Master's degree programs must hold a B.A. in English/American Studies (rather than English Translation Studies, for example). Additionally, they must submit English language test scores (the latter does not apply to students with B.A. degrees obtained in the UK, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa). Please note that English test scores are mandatory - even if your B.A. courses were all taught in English.
