The bachelors program in Media Technology is designed as an interdisciplinary program closely linked to professional practice, and equips students with the wide range of technical-engineering skills required to help shape the future. The program is the only one of its kind to be offered at university level in the Berlin/Brandenburg region and provides a special focus on image and video technology, language and audio technology, and human-machine interaction.

About Media Technology (B.Sc.)
The aim of the Media Technology bachelors program is to provide students with a thorough technical education to prepare them for their future careers.
As a graduate, you are well versed in the core skills of technical engineering and are able to combine these with your knowledge of language, audio, image, video, and multimedia applications to design media and research their impact. You are able to thoroughly analyze the fundamental tasks of media technology and find solutions using a broad range of interdisciplinary perspectives. However, you also acquire knowledge and skills beyond these technical fields: The program further teaches you to work independently and responsibly, to be a good team player, to be able to think abstractly and creatively, and to present your findings effectively. These skills are just as important for your future work in developing solutions to problems. A Bachelor of Science enables you to start your career, set up your own business, or continue your academic studies by doing a masters degree in an appropriate subject.
Requirements and Admission Criteria for Media Technology (B.Sc.) at TU Berlin
Entry Requirements
As for every other bachelors degree program at TU Berlin, applicants must possess a university entrance qualification certificate. Generally, the Abitur serves as the university entrance qualification certificate. If you do not have a formal university entrance qualification, you may still be able to study at TU Berlin if you can provide proof of certain professional qualifications.
The Media Technology bachelors program is taught in German. If you are applying with a foreign school-leaving certificate, you must provide proof of German skills at a specific level. This is a prerequisite for admission.
As the technical literature for this field is partly in English, a good level of English is desirable. However, this is not a condition for admission to studies.
The program in Media Technology at TU Berlin is highly interdisciplinary. Students wishing to study in the program should have an interest in computer-based devices and digital technology as well as a basic understanding of the principles of technology. An aptitude for mathematics and physics and for finding creative solutions to technical problems are also desirable. A high level of initiative and self-management skills are also required to deal with the demands of the program.
