The study programme is divided into four semesters of basic studies and six semesters of main studies including the research-oriented diploma thesis of six months.
The basic studies include the following subject areas:
- mathematics,
- electrical engineering,
- computer science and
- extra-curricular studies.
The basic studies are completed with an intermediate exam.
During the main studies the student attends the following compulsory courses:
- in computer science: databases, software development tools, management of large software projects, compiler construction;
- in electrical engineering: signal processing, communications engineering, circuit and system planning, information theory.
Through the required electives, the student specialises in one of the following areas:
- automation,
- electrical circuits and systems,
- communication techniques,
- microelectronics,
- technical computer science,
- system-oriented computer science,
- architecture of distributed systems or software engineering.
