About Master of German-Italian Studies

The international degree program German-Italian Studies / Studi Italo-Tedeschi at the Universities of Bonn and Florence (UniversitÃ degli Studi di Firenze) follows up on the international bachelor's degree program of the same name. The research-oriented master's degree program particularly deepens the students subject-specific knowledge, supplements it with interdisciplinary aspects and expands their competencies in theory and methodology. The degree program has a bi-national cultural studies focus on Germany and Italy with the main subjects of Italian and German studies, each of which contains elements of linguistics, literature, cultural studies and media studies. The program addresses both the cultural and literary histories of Germany and Italy up to the present and investigates the historical development and current structures of the two languages. In addition, students choose modules from the area of either Political Science/Sociology or Art History. This master's degree program includes at least one semester of study at the UniversitÃ degli Studi di Firenzi and offers the possibility to simultaneously obtain the Master of Arts and the Italian Laurea magistrale. Possible lines of work: Cultural and research management, journalism/media industry, communications industry (advertising, PR, translation), book industry (publishers, libraries, booksellers), German-Italian cultural and economic relations, international organizations and authorities, academia (teaching/research at universities, educational institutions, etc.)
