About Bachelor of Summer Course "German for the Tourism Industry": CANCELLED

The main focus of this German language course is the acquisition of language skills that are utilised on a daily basis in the tourism industry, e.g. in the hotel industry (reception, restaurant, kitchen) or at a travel agency. The course touches upon various tourism models, such as sustainable tourism, and emerging trends are discussed. In addition, we will discuss what tourism is and what expectations German tourists have when they come to foreign countries. To accomplish this, different communication scenarios will be practised at the B2 language level with the reading of manuscripts, listening exercises, and further materials. Among other skills, participants will learn how to correctly comprehend a tour catalogue. The lessons follow the aims of communicative competence of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in an entertaining and inspiring way and will assist your independent learning process. The language course takes place from Monday to Friday in the mornings. There are four teaching units each morning (45 minutes each). In the afternoon, you can choose from seminars on different current issues in the areas of cultural and social sciences, e.g. history, literature, film, environment, European policy and interculturality. You can further practise your skills in the self-study area of our language laboratory. A graded certificate will be issued to all participants at the end of the course. It will include your individual language level according to the CEFR as well as your ECTS credits.
