Imagine you are not just talking about sustainability, but you are actively contributing to how the materials, energy systems and technologies of the future are developed! Science and engineering are basic tools to achieve a sustainable development in domains like ecology, economics and society as well. The English-taught Master's programme Sustainable Systems Engineering (SSE) with its international focus is particularly addressed to graduates with a Bachelor's degree in engineering or natural sciences. It provides in-depth engineering skills in sustainable materials, energy systems, and resilience engineering. Moreover, it teaches interdisciplinary knowledge in natural resources and climate change, as well as sustainable economics, technologies and societies during its two-year duration. The engineering Master’s degree in Sustainable Systems Engineering opens up a whole range of career prospects for you: classical engineering professions, working for environmental authorities and public institutions, developing materials and technologies, or a scientific-research career. Entry Requirements

In principle, you are eligible for the SSE Master's programme if you fulfil the following requirements: You must hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering or science with a total of 180 ECTS and three years of duration at least. (For applicants from Asia and the MENA regions, usually four years are required.) 120 ECTS of your Bachelor's degree must be engineering and natural science-related subjects (such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, electronics, etc.). This precondition is usually fulfilled by electrical and mechanical engineers, but can also be fulfilled by graduates of similar programmes such as environmental engineering, materials science and energy engineering. Our admissions committee decides about the suitability of your previous degree (i.e. whether or not it has prepared you well) for the SSE Master's programme. Outstanding performance is required. The "cut-off grade" of the MSc SSE is a grade average of 2.5 on a German scale. Advanced English language skills on a CEFR B2 level.
