Minimum programme requirements

Minimum requirements listed here are the likely grades required and do not guarantee entry. We assess each application individually and applicants may require a higher grade to be offered a place.

Select your study option:

You must have completed one of the following:

• A four-year bachelors degree
• An honours degree
• A bachelors degree and a one-year professional qualification or three years’ professional experience relevant to the area that you would like to study.

• To enrol in the Education specialisation you need to have at least three years’ teaching experience.
• To enrol in the Mathematics Education specialisation you need to have at least three years’ teaching experience and currently hold a teaching position.
• To enrol in the Teaching Chinese in Schools specialisation you need to have attained a proficiency level in Chinese of at least HSK Level 5 or equivalent.

• A bachelors degree and a one-year professional qualification or three years professional experience relevant to the area that you would like to study.
  
  

You will need a GPE of at least 3.0 and for some specialisations a higher GPE will be required.

• To enrol in the Education specialisation you need to have at least three years’ teaching experience.
• To enrol in the Mathematics Education specialisation you need to have at least three years’ teaching experience and currently hold a teaching position.
• To enrol in the Teaching Chinese in Schools specialisation you need to have attained a proficiency level in Chinese of at least HSK Level 5 or equivalent.
  
• To enrol in the Translation specialisation you need to have an IELTS Academic overall score of 7.0 with no bands less than 6.5. Alternatively, for non-native speakers of English, you need to have at least three years of tertiary education in the English medium.
