    About

    This course is for you if you need to "top-up"‌ your existing degree to become a registered Biomedical Scientist, or if you wish to develop your knowledge of the basic structure and function of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, including the identity, nature and properties of important cellular organelles, how they function in cellular processes and replication of cells, and cell interconnection and communication, as part of your continuing professional development.

    Available via distance learning, this module allows you to develop your knowledge in cellular components and processes involved in the birth and the life and death of cells. It is ideal if you wish to "top-up"‌ your existing degree to become a registered Biomedical Scientist, or if you are looking to take a course as part of your continuing professional development.

    You will be provided with a basic introduction to cellular components and processes involved in the birth, life and death of cells. It will develop your knowledge of the identity, nature and properties of important cellular organelles and how these organelles function in cellular processes and the replication of cells. The role of abnormal cellular function in pathology will also be covered.

    Entry Requirements

    Students with Good or Very Good (70%+) are eligible for entry onto Masters programmes depending on the degree obtained.

    If you are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

    All PhD applicants need to contact the research groups direct with their individual research proposal.

    • A personal statement (250 words max)
