    Course overview

    Our physiotherapy degree enables you to register with the HCPC as a physiotherapist on graduation1. It prepares you for a wide range of roles in various settings, including clinical work in the NHS, consultancy and private practice, sports rehabilitation in gyms and clubs, research and specialist education.

    The future of the profession is changing and the course has been designed with this in mind. In addition to preparing you for clinical practice, you will explore entrepreneurship skills, your role in disease prevention and get to grips with technological advances.

    • Professionally accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), enabling you to apply to practice as a physiotherapist in the UK (please see Accreditation section for more information).
    • Gain the skills to deliver professional, impactful, evidence-informed care. You’ll learn to effectively critique evidence sources and make safe and effective decisions.
    • Learn to collaborate and thrive as a physiotherapist across and within multidisciplinary teams, developing your relationship management skills and coordinating care delivery.
    • Focus on one module at a time, with five weeks of learning followed by one week of assessment per module.
    • You will complete five placements with a total clinical contact time that meets the recommendations for membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)2,5.
    • All eligible learners on this course can apply for a minimum payment from the government of £5,000 per year. You can apply for additional payments if you incur childcare costs6.

    International Pathways Programme

    International Foundation Year (IFY)
    Tawjihiya/Thanawihya/General Secondary School Certificate with pass grades.

    International Year One (IY1)
    Tawjihiya/Thanawihya/General Secondary School Certificate with good grades.

    Master's Qualifying Programme (MQP)
    No country specific entry requirement at this time.

    Undergraduate

    Students applying with an International Baccalaureate. Please check the specific course page for the points needed.

    Students who have successfully completed a recognised Foundation programme in the UK or internationally.

    Students who have completed Year 1 of a 4 or 5 year Degree Programme in Saudi with an average CGPA of 3.0 out of 5 or 2.5 out of 4.

    Students who National Diploma level qualifications High school Certificates

    The foundation programme is required for students who have completed Thanawihya.

    Students who hold Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or Central Board of Secondary Education.

    Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 79 and a minimum component score of 18.

    Top-up

    Students who hold an Associate Degree should have CGPA of 3.0 out of 5.0.

    Students who hold a Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 (subject to syllabus match).

    Postgraduate

    Students who hold a Bachelor’s Degree should have an average grade of 60% or above.

    Students who have an average grade of 70% or CGPA of 2.5 out of 4 for the Postgraduate Research programmes with a satisfactory research proposal.

    Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 88 and a minimum component score of 19.

    English Program Requirements

    • IELTS: Applicants must possess a minimum IELTS of 7.0 overall (with no component lower than 6.5).

    If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme before you start your course.

    Employability is considered throughout the course, with a specific module for you to develop your leadership skills. This aims to equip you to work in a range of healthcare environments including the NHS, private practice, sports, specialist education and leadership.

    Practice placements also help you to develop the skills needed upon graduation, preparing you for your future career as a physiotherapist2,5.
