    Course Overview

    Completed over eighteen months of full-time study (2yr FTE), our Master of Primary Teaching is aimed at students who already hold a Bachelor’s degree but wish to gain the required skills and knowledge to become a primary school teacher. You are probably already aware of Notre Dame’s excellent reputation for producing job-ready graduates and this Master’s program is an excellent example, with students spending a total of 14 weeks working in a classroom setting. We have designed this degree program so that you can combine your studies with existing work and family commitments. Most of the classes at our Broadway site are taught in the evenings or on weekends. Regardless of what you studied for your Bachelor’s degree, this Master’s program provides a solid pedagogical grounding for your future career in teaching. Over the course of your studies, you will study subjects such as English, history, science, mathematics, technology and geography as well as learning the fundamentals of research methodology in Year Two.

    Global requirements

    Master of Physiotherapy
    – Qualification needs to be at an AQF Level 7 or above with a GPA of 2.5/4 or 62.5% or higher
    – Final transcripts and graduation certificate must be provided.
    – Importantly, course outlines for prerequisite subjects for the Master of Physiotherapy, these are non-negotiable by the School. If these cannot be provided the School will not accept the student.
    Pre-Reqs subjects are:
    – Human Anatomy and Physiology
    – Human Pathophysiology

    Note: the course is competitive and has limited places available. Meeting the [academic] entry requirements does NOT guarantee a place in the course.

    Master of Business Administration (MBA)
    Students with an overseas qualification comparable to an AQF Associate Degree (or Bachelor degree) will meet entry into the MBA.

    Master of Social Work (Qualifying)
    – Relevant Australian Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification completed within the last 10 years with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60% that contains at least one full-time year or equivalent (1FTE) of studies in the social and behavioural sciences. This may include studies in arts, social sciences, behavioural sciences. business, law, nursing, and allied health.

    Students must have completed at least 8 unitssubjects in social and behavioural science.

    Master of Professional Psychology
    THIS COURSE IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS WITH AN UG DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY FROM AUSTRALIA

    1. Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited 4-year sequence of study in Psychology within the last 10 years, with a minimum of Second-Class Honours Division B or equivalent; AND

    2. Be eligible for provisional registration as a psychologist (NB students must obtain and provide evidence of provisional registration from the Psychology Board of Australia before commencing the program and maintain it over the course of their program); AND

    3. Demonstrate suitability to undertake the course as evidence by satisfactory:
    * Referee reports (1 x academic and 1 x professional) via HODSPA; and
    * CV and personal statement; and

    4. For short-listed candidates, interview with the selection committee.

    – Master of Physiotherapy, Master of Social Work (Qualifying) / Bachelor and Master of Counselling – 7.0 overall, with no score lower than 7.0

    – Master of Philosophy, Masters by Research, Doctor of Philosophy programs – 7.0 overall, with no score lower than 7.0 in writing and no other individual score lower than 6.5
